Portrait Lisa Bristow.jpg

Lisa Bristow is a Lismore based artist and photographer producing work in her home. In response to the flooding events in Lismore and northern NSW in 2022, Lisa found herself falling into a photojournalist role as she turned her focus to documenting the aftermath of the floods and the impact on her community.

A pair of shoes stolen from her back door led her to start a Twitter thread to highlight issues in the community and the effects of disruption of services and businesses and the ongoing impact of the on the community in general.

Lisa studied Painting at the Canberra School of Art (now ANU School of Art and Design) from 1994-1997. In 1996 she participated in a student exchange program to the Glasgow School of Art and was a recipient of the Westende IOF Travel Scholarship.
